As the name suggests, Gorman's Clifftop House sits on the headland overlooking Smerwick Harbour. The romantic setting for watching the sun as it sinks down between the Three Sisters and Ballydavid Head proves a popular treat with those dining in the restaurant. To the rear of the house are views of the Mount Brandon Ridge.
The bedrooms are spacious and have an ensuite with bath and shower. There are views of the sea or the mountains depending on the room. Each room also has a flatscreen television, DVD player and a selection of DVDs, guidebooks, maps and books of local interest. Superior rooms are fitted with a jacuzzi bath and a super kingsize bed.
The guesthouse can arrange for a taxi to transport luggage for Dingle Way walkers to the next stop on the trail. A popular trick with some walkers is to get a lift with the luggage to the foot of Mount Brandon before the challenging ascent.
Guests who are looking to spend some extra time in the area can take a break from walking the Dingle Way and hire a bicycle for the day. The Gormans have descriptions for three routes of varying difficulty prepared for guests.
Views of the Atlantic late at night or first thing in the morning … good for the soul

A high point of each day was relaxing in my own room before dinner with that glorious view of sunshine on Mount Brandon.
