Location

The Old Pier Guest Accommodation is perched above Dooneen Pier, looking out across Smerwick Harbour to the 'Three Sisters' headland and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. Mount Brandon's range of peaks form the backdrop to the house and both the Slea Head Drive and Dingle Way pass the front door. This is a family-run guest house that has been awarded three stars by Fáilte Ireland.

The House

There are six bedrooms in total, all of which are en-suite. There are four rooms to the front of the house, each with views across Smerwick Harbour. The two bedrooms to the back of the house have views of Mount Brandon. Original artwork that feature local scenes and painted by local artist, June McIntyre, are on display in the bedrooms. The local Irish TV Stations are available in each room and there are tea and coffee making facilities.

Food

The dining room is on the ground floor and has views across the bay. Breakfast is included with the price of the room. As of 2017, the Old Pier Restaurant will no longer be serving food to the general public. Exceptions will be made for walkers and cyclists, who are guests at the house, as they are more limited to where they can travel. These meals must be pre-booked.
