Mount Brandon Cottage is a recently restored cottage that is in a central location on the main street of Cloghane. The lane at the side of the cottage guides the Dingle Way into the village.

The cottage is ideally suited for a couple walking the Dingle Way who want to spend an extra day or two properly exploring the Mount Brandon Ridge and the lakes below.

In the double bedroom upstairs, there is a velux window to either side of the bed giving great views to the surrounding mountains and out to Brandon Bay. A short step across the landing at the top of the stairs is the main bathroom which has a shower.

A third person can be accommodated downstairs in the lounge. The couch can be pulled out to form a bed. This person would also have their own separate toilet which is on the ground floor.

The lounge has a flatscreen Television and a DVD player. There is a breakfast bar under an archway which links the lounge and kitchen together, making it a more social place to cook in. The kitchen itself is fully equipped with a four hob cooker with oven, a microwave, as well as all the cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery needed. Alternatively, meals can be sought at O'Donnell's Bar across the road or O'Connor's Bar.

The added bonus for Dingle Way walkers is the washing machine and dryer, which gives a great opportunity to do some laundry at your own pace. Those continuing the trail to Castlegregory can arrange to have their luggage transferred on for them.

The cottage is heated by electic storage heaters. The electricity is metered and must be paid for at the end of the stay. Greatly depending on the amount of heating, cooking and washing done, this generally works out in the region of €1.00 - €2.00 per day.

The owners of the cottage live in the Mount Brandon Lodge Bed and Breakfast, which is just a few houses down the street. They will be close by should you need any assistance with anything.
