The Lantern Townhouse is a centrally located on the main street of Dingle, just 100m off the Dingle Way trail. It is set in amongst the shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs, right in the very heart of the town.
The bed and breakfast has ten bedrooms in total, spread over four floors. The top floor consists of adjoining double and twin rooms, which share a bathroom, and they are generally let out as a suite. This is ideally suited for a family or a group of friends. All of the other bedrooms are en-suite with a power-shower. The flatscreen television in each room show all of the Irish Saorview stations. Tea and Coffee making facilities are provided and Wi-Fi is available free of charge.
For guests arriving in the evening, hosts Thomas and Ann-Marie will be happy to be of assistance in recommending somewhere to eat and can reserve a table for you.
In the morning, there is a wide variety of choice for breakfast. Guests can help themselves at the continental style buffet table of freshly baked bread and pastries, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, cold meats and selection of cheeses. There is also a menu for a hot breakfast and these will be freshly made upon ordering.
Guests are welcome to help themselves to coffee, tea and treats in the reception area throughout the day. The adjoining dining room is also open. There is a library of books, local magazines and rack of tourism brochures available to browse through. The artwork adorning the walls of both the dining room and reception area have been done by local artists and are available to purchase.
Walkers going out for the day can easily source a packed lunch in any of the local grocery shops. Alternatively, the Lantern Townhouse can prepare a packed lunch for groups of ten people or more. Those continuing on the Dingle Way can arrange to get their luggage transferred to their next bed and breakfast.
Guests who are looking to prolong their Irish experience are always intrigued by the B&B owners other business. Katharine and Thomas are curators for a showcase of Irish produce each month. 'My Ireland Box' can be a once-off or else a monthly subscription-based service which sends a surprise selection of Irish crafts or food to the recipient.
