The Willows B&B is located on Clonmore Terrace, on the edge of Tralee. It is a five minute walk from both the town centre and the start/end of the Dingle Way at the Kerry County Museum. The Wild Atlantic Way coastal drive is also in close proximity.
Clonmore Terrace was originally built over 120 years ago to house British Army Officers based in Tralee. The current owners of this Victorian house, Tim and Mary Walsh, bought the premises over 20 years ago. Since then, they have upgraded the building to a four bedroom bed and breakfast, spread across three floors. The Willows is approved by Fáilte Ireland and has a three star rating.
Each bedroom has a private bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, a selection of magazines for some light reading and a flat screen television showing the Irish Soarview stations. There is a wider range of Sky channels on the TV in the guest lounge. Musically-gifted guests are also permitted to play the piano here.
In order to provide an efficient service in the morning, guests are asked to fill out a form each evening, stating their breakfast preferences. The Willow's hostess, Mary, prides herself on the quality of the breakfast offering with special options for coeliacs and vegetarians. She has previously been a winner of an Irish bread-baking award, representing County Kerry.
Walkers who want a packed lunch or an evening meal should note that although the Willows do not provide either of these, there are plenty of deli counters and restaurants nearby to the house.
Guests can bring food or drink back to the house in the evening and store it in a mini fridge on the landing. This will allow for a quicker start to the trail the following morning.
In addition to providing a luggage transfer service to Camp, it is possible to leave some posessions at the B&B and collect them at the end of the walk. There is also off-road parking to the rear of the house, should anyone wish to leave their car here for the duration of the Dingle Way.
With some advance notice, guests using public transport can get collected or transported from/to Tralee Bus & Train Station.
There are several other signposted loop walks in the area. These include the Lee Valley, Ballyseedy Woods and the Glanageenty Loop Walk.
Cyclists should note that there is a secure bicycle lock-up facility at the Willows B&B.
